The Private Sector's Strong Presence at ID4Africa

Since its inception, ID4Africa has recognized the important role the private sector plays in identity development in Africa. Ultimately it is their technology and solutions that are deployed to solve the identity challenges and to help governments become more efficient and transparent in serving the needs of their citizens.

Today, we are pleased to present a record number of companies that are participating in the ID4Africa Annual Meeting 2016 showcasing a wide range of technologies and solutions. Over 60 world class companies will be at the Exposition that runs in parallel to the conference. One of the missions of ID4Africa is to create a fair and competitive marketplace characterized by abundance of choice and where the selection of solution providers is merit based.

No single identity conference has managed to unite such a focused set of solution leaders anywhere in the World, yet they unite for Africa at ID4Africa.
Spotlight on Session 3:

Some of these solution leaders will share their expertise with delegates in the plenary session (3) on Day 1 (details below) and Workshop 2 on Day 2. Solutions providers are one of the three Key Stakeholder Groups in the identity ecosystem therefore some of the world's leading identity solutions providers will be speaking following the government and international agencies sessions.

In our ongoing series of spotlights on different sessions this week we will focus on Session 3 (Day 1, 16:15-18:30). In this session, six leading identity solutions providers discuss the latest technology and solution developments in identity systems and their real world experiences of pertinence to the African context.

Do not miss this phenomenal lineup:

Gemalto will present their innovative KYC solution to show the important role document verification plays in building trust between service providers and citizens as well as its fight against fraud.

HID Global will discuss the shift that is underway where governments today are able to offer secure IDs provisioned via mobile or smart phones. They will include many case studies from Africa.

De La Rue will take a foundational perspective on e-ID and will share best practices for tracing e-ID to birth registration to create a validated and trusted identity data-set that can be leveraged for identity services down the line.

Zetes will explore the issue of a seeming contradiction - Voter IDs issuances have increased in the past decade throughout Africa yet have not led to increased permanent civil ID issuances.

Arjosystems will demonstrate, through case studies, that securing breeder documents through simple and efficient solutions is possible despite limited infrastructure.

Genkey will explain a strategy for realizing the UN Sustainable Goal of Legal identity for all by 2030 within the African context, by highlighting the 4 keys to biometric identity: enroll, uniqueness, validate, and update.

Morpho will present a vision for mobile biometric solutions and their relevance in an African context where mobile devices have become indispensable for citizen empowerment.

The presentations will be followed by a discussion session giving delegates the opportunity to ask questions and participate in a moderated debate around how technology solutions can empower people in Africa.
