An Exclusive Interview With
Mr. J. Tiah Nagbe, Executive Director
National Identification Registry of Liberia
 

With the recent launch of Liberia’s National Biometric Identification System (NBIS) on Monday, October 30, ID4Africa took the opportunity to have a one-on-one discussion with Mr. J. Tiah Nagbe, Executive Director of the National Identification Registry of Liberia.

In his interview, Mr. Nagbe shared the benefits the new system will offer to citizens and legal residents and his expectations for the transformative program to modernize the way public and private sector companies conduct business in Liberia.

Mr. Nagbe also expressed with immense enthusiasm how Liberia’s participation in ID4Africa from the first event in 2015 through to 2017, helped shape the National ID project and provide the guidance, expertise and community needed for developing a successful program and scheme.

Biometric Update Selected as
Official Journalist of ID4Africa 2018
 

ID4Africa is pleased to officially announce the Biometric Update as the official journalist to provide full on-the-ground coverage of ID4Africa 2018 in Abuja, Nigeria on 24-26 April. Secure Identity Alliance
Launches Code of Conduct

ID4Africa is pleased to endorse the new Code of Conduct released this week by the Secure Identity Alliance on November 13, 2017.

The Code of Conduct is the Alliance’s most recent initiative to address the commitment the industry should take in upholding the highest level of standards, ethics, excellence and accountability in the design and implementation of digital identity systems.

“We welcome the creation of this Code of Conduct and we urge everyone in the industry to sign it and uphold it. To build success in Africa, we need ethical business practices that create a healthy, open, competitive market where the solutions win purely on their merit” said Dr. Joseph J Atick, Executive Chairman of ID4Africa.

ID4Africa Joins the Secure Identity Alliance
As Advisory Observer

In order to ensure that Africa is front and center on the agenda of the industry players, who make up an important segment of the ID4Africa Tripartite, ID4Africa is pleased to announce that it has accepted the invitation to join the Secure Identity Alliance as an Advisory Observer. This comes at a time when there is a general recognition of the important role played by the private sector in advancing the sustainable development goals.

Dr Joseph J Atick, Executive Chairman of ID4Africa stated “Our presence on the advisory board of SIA follows our endorsement of the Industry Code of Conduct as yet another step towards ensuring the health of the private and public partnerships, in order to achieve our objective of legal identity for all by 2030 in Africa.”
